    MXGM v0.1.164 Stable

maxnflaxl released this 2026-10-04 18:39:31 +00:00 | 0 commits to master since this release

The first release of MXGM, an open-source Cuckatoo32 GPU miner for Grin.

On an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER it does 1.641 g/s at stock and 146 J a graph at its operating point (--mclk 5001 --cclk 2300 --fan 30). Every card measured so far is in benchmarks.md.

    Downloads

    • mxgm-v0.1.164-linux-x86_64.tar.gz: Linux x86-64, glibc 2.30 or newer.
    • mxgm-v0.1.164-macos-arm64.tar.gz: macOS on Apple Silicon, through the Metal backend.
    • mxgm-v0.1.164-windows-x86_64.zip: Windows x86-64, with NVIDIA's NVRTC 12.9.

Each archive holds the binary, mine_grin and emergency scripts, sample configs and a readme.txt. CUDA cards need the NVIDIA driver and NVRTC.
The Windows zip includes NVIDIA's NVRTC (nvrtc64_120_0.dll, nvrtc-builtins64_129.dll, under NVIDIA-CUDA-EULA.txt).

On Windows MXGM keeps 1024 MiB of VRAM free by default, so a 16 GB card runs K=4 (about 0.95 g/s on an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER). At K=2 the card has no VRAM left, and Windows moves the miner into system RAM whenever another program wants VRAM: from 1.4 g/s down to as little as 0.05 g/s. --keepfree 0 runs K=2 on a GPU nothing else uses.

    Verifying

    gpg --verify SHA256SUMS.asc SHA256SUMS
    sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS # Linux
    shasum -a 256 -c SHA256SUMS # macOS
    certutil -hashfile mxgm-v0.1.164-windows-x86_64.zip SHA256 # Windows: compare with SHA256SUMS

Each archive also has its own .asc: gpg --verify <archive>.asc <archive>.

    Dev fee

1 %: one 36-second round an hour, counted separately from your own shares. --dev-fee raises it; nothing lowers it.

    Your card's numbers

mxgm --report benchmarks your card, measures its power curve and prints a block to paste into an issue. Nothing is uploaded.
